Melatonin as a natural sleep aid

Natural sleep aid melatonin often called as the sleep hormone, is a hormone that the body produces at night. People who suffer from jet lag, who are blind, those who live in places with extended sunlight hours may have trouble sleeping because their bodies do not produce enough melatonin.

Patients looking for a short term solution may be helped by taking melatonin supplements, as well as for those people whose natural wake and sleep cycles have been disturbed. Melatonin is also helpful for those who are trying to wean themselves off of sleep remedies.
