Superior Oral Hygiene Is A Good Prevention Against Swollen Gums
If the mouth is left dirty and unhealthy, dental plaque formed from bacteria from the food leftovers that are left stuck on teeth can cause swollen gums which is a characteristic of gum disease. The infection of the gums causes bleeding gums. The early indicator of early gum disease called gingivitis are bleeding and swollen gums. Gum swelling can possibly occur from vigorous brushing.
Gums tend to swell due to the increased level or fluctuation of hormones during puberty and pregnancy. The lack of vitamin C, leukemia, tumors and other conditions may also trigger gums to swell. Certain medications may gums to become swollen as their side effect. The effective way in preventing swollen gums is the removal of plaque by observing good oral hygiene.
