What triggers hot flash and what is the most recommended remedy?
Typically, hot flash begins in a woman's chest, travels up the neck to the face and head. They may interrupt a woman's sleep when they occur at night, increasing the levels of fatigue and sometimes leading to insomnia. Caffeinated foods, tobacco, alcohol, and hot spicy foods can trigger hot flash, as can anger, frustration and irritation. Drinking plenty of water and a regular exercise can help prevent hot flashes.
But the most commonly recommended remedy for hot flashes is black cohosh. Compared to the other herbs that can help menopause hot flashes, more research has been done for the effectiveness and safety of black cohosh. Please be noted that is you already tried black cohosh and it doesn't work for you, there are other alternatives that might be help.
It is that estrogen replacement therapy causes endometrial cancer. The endometrium is the lining of the uterus and estrogen causes the lining to build up, which without menstruation, frequently lead to cancer. With this, estrogen-pregesterone combination therapy has been prescribe by doctors.
The progesterone would cause the lining to be shed each month, leading to a return of monthly periods and also decrease the risk for cancer. This was believed to be a safe remedy for hot flash and other symptoms associated with menopause.
